We want this site to work for everyone who comes to it, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard on its own, or a browser set to larger text.
What we aim for
We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
What we have done
- Every color pairing on the site was measured rather than eyeballed. Body text clears 4.5 to 1 and large text clears 3 to 1.
- The whole site can be operated by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator on every control and a skip link to the main content.
- Headings run in order and describe the structure of the page rather than being chosen for their size.
- Every image has a text alternative, and decorative images are marked so screen readers pass over them.
- The company name in the header is set with the logo standing in for a letter. The plain word is present as real text underneath, so it reads correctly aloud.
- Form fields have real labels rather than placeholder text.
- Anything that moves stops for anyone whose system is set to reduce motion.
What we know is not finished
- The site has not yet been audited by a third party or tested with a range of assistive technology beyond our own checks.
- One portrait is from a low resolution original and is softer than the other at large sizes.
